Gratitude from book “Get out of your Head.”

Submission and gratitude is the only way through difficult times.

Outside of the biblical faith, humility in this sense would not usually be considered a virtue. Within the context of judeo-Christian tradition however, humility is considered the proper attitude of human beings towards the creator.

Humility is a grateful and spontaneous awareness that life is a gift and it is manifested as an ungrudging and unhypocritical acknowledgment of absolute dependence on God.

Outside of biblical faith, humility would be lunacy who wants the less power, less prestige? But within biblical faith, it is virtuous this utter dependence on God.

The truth is our hearts aren’t really after power they’re after joy and the deception we buy into is that somehow Joy will come when we have power but TRUE joy comes when we lay aside our power and rest in God’s.

No more looking for things to complain about now look for reasons to give thanks renewing our minds by choosing gratitude, allowing God to remake our mind, body and soul to be an alignment with him in his love resting in his grace with a heart of humility.

Once you start seeing things to be grateful for, your brain starts looking for more things to be grateful for it’s a loop. 🔁

- a research in the magazine psychology today reference to study from the national Institute of health. They reported that subjects “who showed more gratitude” overall had higher level of activity in the hypothalamus ( i.e The part of the brain that controls bodily functions, expressing gratitude caused an increase in dopamine hits the neurotransmitter that makes the brain “happy” each time a subject experienced gratitude. The brain said, ooh, do it again! this way, feeling gratitude led to feeling more gratitude.)

- WOW ⭐️

---We can observe our suffering without being overtaken by our suffering.

We can see it without becoming a slave to it, doing so doesn’t mean we don’t fight for what’s right, scripture commands us to fight in fact by acting justly, crying out for justice, and defending the cause of the oppressed. -In Christ, we can fight not from a place of insecurity and outrage, but from a place of reconciliation. Of calm confidence. Of peace. of love. Why? Because our victory is surely secured. We’ve already won.

By choosing gratitude over victimhood, Paul centered his thoughts on God‘s purpose behind the pain. He focused on the impact which involved people coming to know Christ. he could see that God will always be on the move.

Your own spiritual beauty may be very much measured by what you can see in other people” humility says “not only do I see you, but I choose to elevate your needs above mine.”

•Humility comes only when I choose to be with God and depend on God instead of buying into the lie that “I am enough ”

my prayer for myself and also for you is that would be utterly depending on God that we seek him and find him and learn from him and lean into him that would be in this world as Jesus himself was that we’d accept every invitation into humility, rising others above our own, but we wouldn’t despise that which will grow us up by reminding us to bow lower and lower still.”

Submission and gratitude is the only way through difficult times.
